Hello,

Hello my name is Chris. I have a Corsair 40 for sale and have been getting many questions on having the boat shipped by truck. Do you know if it is possible to remove the upper section of the boat for transporting by truck? Thank you so much for any information.

Thank you for the response Carl. I'm getting a measurement of 13' 11" height from the keel to the top of the upper deck with the windshield off. The boat is currently located in Michigan and have many bridges in the 13' 8" range and I think it's a concern for transports. Just wondering if she can be shortened up any more

Hello Chris (Hi, Carl) I'm Dean Singer, the Old Boater. Owned a 40' for 36 years, and sometimes help Carl respond to questions. The factory sent many CAH's over the road by removing the windscreen and undoing the upper control station; and just letting it hang down by the various cables. Possibly there's room to turn the console sideways and drop it through the hole it's mounted over, but I think I saw one or more just hanging down when they were preparing to ship. There are a number of boat-hauling companies with specially made lowboy trailers that can do the actual move. They route themselves via roads that can handle the height in that configuration. I'm not aware of ever having to remove the entire flybridge. I don't know how many $$$ it takes. Google "Boat Haulers". A 40' CAH weighs somewhere around 22,000 pounds, regardless of what the sales brochure says. Your mover will need that imfo. They get heavier as they get older --- us owners keep putting important stuff (sometimes referred to as "crap") in them. What's the name of your boat? Do you know any previous names? Where's it going? If you're keeping it, good for you. If not, I hope you enjoyed her while you had her. They are still great boats.

Dean Singer 360-377-7513 Thank you!
