Tom Westendorf

Hello,

Just bought a 1975 31ft here in Everett. Just wondering if you have the contact email for the "Otrageous" (sic). Planning on doing the same restoration.

Carl, Thanks for the response. I will definitely be sharing photos of my boat and the remodel process with you. My boat has twin inboards but unfortunately they were submerged under seawater as the boat took on water for some reason, prior to my purchase.. My plan is to remove the motors and convert it to twin outboards. Curious about any thoughts you might have or problems with putting an engine bracket and twin outboards on. I also own a Sea Camper houseboat that had a inboard outboard, and now has a mercury 115 outboard it seems to work very well. Thanks again for your help and I look forward to hearing from you. Tom

Don't have his e-mail address, but I've forwarded this to Dean Singer, who may have it.

Carl Tenning p.s. If you would like to have photos of your project on the Cruise-a-Home Owners Page, let me know. Would appreciate a photo anyway. Thanks.

BTW, my 31-footer had that bullet-proof Army/Navy v-drive gearbox. I think it was designed for a tank. Really solid.

Hi Carl

Of course I have the name and e-mail address of the former "Outrageous" owners. Ken and Cris Opitz. I think you may have met Ken once while he was working on the boat. The boat finally launched last spring. New name is Seaja'i. Ken's e-mail is kopitz at yahoo.com. They moor it at the private "homes with individual moorage" development on the west side of the channel just south of the bridge in LaConner. (My aged brain cannot remember the name of the development.) I'm not sure that Tom really wants to do "the same restoration" ---- Ken's project took him close to 15 years. (But I'm sure Ken will share that fact with Tom.) Ken helped another boater last year and I know he'll be glad to share his experiences. We finally got away for our more-or-less annual trek south to warmer weather. Tonight in Las Vegas. Didn't want to gamble or visit the "big" casinos, but re-visited the "Fremont Experience", where a three or four block of Fremont Ave. has been covered with a half-round structure containing over a million LED bulbs that show moving images rolling up and down over the street. Not as spectacular as we remember from 20 or so years ago when we saw it in it's opening year --- but perhaps we get jaded in our old age. Hope this helps Tom.

Dean
