Lieutenant Commander, Warren Paul Jensen, United States Coast Guard Retired, crossed the bar at 1130 hours, 31 July, 2010, at Anacortes, WA.

Warren was born August 27, 1921 in Yakima, Washington, the son of Oscar Jack and Geneva Adella (Sherwood) Jensen. Warren met Lola Maxine Bridgeman in Yakima in September, 1942. They were married in November that year and moved to Seattle, WA where Warren was stationed at the U. S. Coast Guard District Office.

Warren entered the Coast Guard as an apprentice seaman in September, 1940 and was promoted to chief petty officer in September, 1942 serving until January, 1946. He was recalled to active duty in December, 1949 and was selected for appointment to the USCG Academy in 1952. He did not attend for medical reasons but was tendered a direct commission as Ensign, USCG Reserve in 1953 and released from active duty. He served in reserve training units as; platoon commander, administrative officer, and training officer. For six years he served as commanding officer of reserve personnel mobilization units and two and one-half years as commanding officer of port security operational unit Tacoma, WA. He served as Secretary and President of Reserve Officers Association, Seattle Chapter.

Warren began his business career with Hi-Lite Manufacturing Company as Vice President/General Manager in 1953. The company fabricated acrylic and PVC products. In 1955 the company merged with Chemical-Proof Corporation where he served as Vice President. In 1958 Warren joined Plastic Products Corporation in Seattle as Vice President/General Manager where he developed the Middy Marine Products division, inventing and developing many marine products that were marketed nationally. In 1968 he founded Cruise-A-Home, Inc. in Everett, WA serving as President/Director until

September, 1980. During this period over 500 pleasure boats were produced. After a short retirement Warren joined Uniflite, Inc. in Bellingham, WA serving as a member of the management staff and General Manager of the Yacht Home Division developing the 45 YachtHome for market. In 1983 he again returned to full time retirement.

During his very productive life Warren was also active in many organizations. He had been an active Elk since 1944, a member of the Reserve Officers Association of the United States since 1953, Rotary Club Seattle #4 from 1959 to 1969, Northwest Marine Trade Association from 1960 to 1980 and a Board Member of that Association from 1967-1971, Boat Show Chairman in 1968, Vice President from 1969 to 1970, President from 1970 to 1971, Skyline Marine Condominium Owners Association Division 18 Director from 1979 to 1986, and President of same from 1982 to 1986.

Warren and Lola, who preceded Warren in passing on July 17, 2006, are survived by their son, Gordon Alan Jensen, of Anacortes, Washington. He also leaves behind sisters; Barbara Loftus of Boise, Idaho, Carolyn Swofford of Meridian, Idaho, and Roberta Latimer, of Seattle, Washington as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of life, a time for family and friends to join together in remembrance, will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 1300 hours at the Skyline Beach Club Cabana, 5919 Cabana Lane, Anacortes, WA.
