Hey Carl,

Thanks for replying. Just found cruise a home boats and they seem perfect for what my wife and I want to do for the next 10 years. Want to cruise the loop, ICW, BC and Alaska coasts, and hopefully the Bahamas. Looking to buy a used 40’. With all the experience you’ve had, are there any changes to the interior you’d make if money was no object. We think a 2 bunk setup in back like the original would suit us better.

John

Sorry Carl, meant 2 single bunks, one on port other on starboard. I only plan on trucking it once. Lewiston ID to Duluth MN or vis a versa. Your website has been very helpful and looks like it has taken 100's of hours of time. I'm so excited to find a boat with one level, planning capable, twin screw, rough water ability. Sorry I digress. Was just wondering if the lady's in the club have mentioned any changes to the head, galley, seating area that would make liveaboard better for them? Guys can sleep and pee just about anywhere, but cute gals that will still hang out with us usually need more. I'm heading up to Idaho on business next month. Is there anyone around WA or OR that time of year that might allow me a tour? Of course dinner and cocktails would be on me.

Hi John,

Yes, while I've never seen it done, there would be some advantage to having double bunks, above and below. It would increase the stateroom floor space allowing more room for dresser. But in the original configuration, the person sleeping on the inside of the berth has to climb over the other person at times.

Those are pretty ambitious cruising plans. We've only cruised the inside waters of Washington and British Columbia. But we've known some who have cruised to Alaska and around Vancouver Island more than once.

Note also that the beam is almost 12 ft. and along with a height of 16 ft. could pose a difficulty for trailering.

Carl
