Gerry LatterHello; Might anyone know the history of "Pug?" Thank you, gerry (604) 724-4396 Vancouver, B.C. 20170322_163851_1.jpg Sorry --- no help here. We did see some of the "fake" CAH's (looked slightly different) on some of our trips north, but don't recall that name Dean Thank you, gerry (604) 724-4396 Vancouver, B.C. I took the picture yesterday at Shelter Marina in Richmond B.C. It has been on dry storage for at least 3-1/2 years. The Seller and I have an accepted deal subject to survey. I saw your website and it helped to make me follow up on purchasing a CAH. gerry -------- Original message -------- From: CARL TENNING Date: 03-23-2017 20:42 (GMT-08:00) To: gerry Subject: Re: Pug Hi Gerry, No one that I've talked to knows anything about it. Do you know where the photograph was taken? Carl Carl; Just did some research on the internet, and cannot determine what a "wide body" is. The beam is approximately 12'. The hull and top side seems sound. The windows on the port side have leaked and caused some rot to that side's interior. The mechanicals are poorish - it has two newer 454's that were installed but not hooked up to the V drive. And of course all of the controls are stiff, and the electrics are corroded. The interior is definitely trashed and requires a total refit. So, probably demo the interior, pull the floorboards, redo the damaged structural joists, remove all the mechanicals, redo the electrics for 110v shore power, then build back up. Thinking that there are other C-A-H for sale at a higher price that are all done up, and they would be a better deal at the end of the day rather than making this one a runner. So maybe with this one we'd remove all the mechanicals, reinstall ballast, , make sure that it floats well and is water tight, demo the interior and rebuild it as a live-a-bord. Later, gerry (604) 724-4396 Looks pretty good. Is it a wide body? Perhaps you could send more photos after you've completed the purchase. I can put your photos on the website if you like. Carl 20170321_134847.jpg 20170322_163909.jpg Carl; "Pug" is not a wide body. Bought it yesterday. Plans are for it to stay on the hard for approximately 6-months while it is refitted. Too much of the mechanical is bad, so we are going to remove all mechanicals and make it into a floater. We will have gauges and controls available, is your Cruise a Home community active that we can offer those items that are redundant for our use? Curious, where are you located? gerry -----Original Message----- From: CARL TENNING Sent: Friday, March 24, 2017 10:02 AM To: gerry Subject: Re: Pug CAH Hi Gerry, The "Wide Body" variant did not effect the hull, only the cabin width. I think that there were only six built. It just gave up some of the walk-around outside the cabin. I've found that the dry rot to the side panels is caused by leakage of the seal between the upper deck and the sides, not window leakage. Those 454's were pretty bullet proof engines. I replaced the mechanical fuel pump on mine with electric. It shortened the cranking time to start. Good luck. Keep me posted.
